Round up of CMA news - 29th October, 2004

It has been a busy year for CMA staff - which is one reason why we have not had a chance to post new articles and general news here.

However, there have been a number of changes going on. Our Family department has been strengthened with the addition of two solicitors. Jane Welch, who is an Accredited Specialist with the Solicitors' Family Law Association joined us some time ago. In addition, we now have Chris Blackmore who is a member of the Law Society's Family Panel. Together with Partner, Louise Relph and Associate Mary Gracie, this is a strong family team. Mary is mostly involved with family mediation and our Practice Manager, Heather Profit, is also currently training to be a Mediator. So, all in all, the family department is busy and thriving and looking to the future with confidence.

In the litigation department, we recruited Steve Astley nearly 12 months ago now. He has been holding the fort during Joanne Hutton's absence on maternity leave. However, we are pleased to say that she will be returning to us on Monday, 1st November, 2004 and we very much welcome her return.

In the private client department, one of our Trainees, Lindsay Glover, seems to have found her niche. Although, she will have to be trained in other areas, she intends to return to this department on qualification next year. She obtained top marks in her most recent exam and we are very proud of her progress. She will make an excellent addition to the private client department, especially as Tom Profit starts to contemplate retirement - though it will take him some time to actually do it!

All in all an eventful year, but we still here - giving an excellent service to all our clients.
